Consultancy Services Required by NCSW  (Last Date to apply 24th May, 2013

 

                             National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) is a statutory body established under National Commission on the Status of Women Act, 2012. The Commission is mandated to review laws and policies, programs and other measures affecting the status and rights of women and gender equality in line with the national and international commitments.  

 

NCSW needs to hire the services of for following positions:

  1.   Consultant   (Legislation)
  2.   Consultant    (Advocacy)
  3.   Consultant     (Research)

National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) is a statutory body established under National Commission on the Status of Women Act, 2012.

The Commission is mandated to review laws and policies, programs and other measures affecting the status and rights of women and gender equality in line with the national and international commitments.  

The NCSW needs the services of highly qualified and professional experts in following areas:

 Consultant

(Legislation)

 

  • LLB
  • Minimum 7-years’ experience in women development and gender equality.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Willing to extensive traveling.
  • Having good computer skills.

 

  • Prepare Work Plan to take forward;

i)              Pending Laws.

ii)        Suggest amendments/ recommendations in existing laws.

iii)        Drafting new legislation or legal cases (ongoing/new).

  • Identify areas of new legislation; development of mechanisms to monitor implementation of laws.
  • Identify and prepare contact lists of key stakeholders at Federal and Provincial Level.
  • Organize consultative meetings on pending and new laws with key stakeholders at Federal and Provincial level.
  • Interact with legislatures.
  • Prepare minutes of meetings, incorporate feedback and submit the reports to the Commission for its comments.
  • Finalize the Reports/ legislation.
  • Any other task assigned by the Chairperson NCSW.

   2.

Consultant Advocacy

 

  • Masters Degree in Social Sciences particularly women or gender studies or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 7-years’ working experience on women development and gender equality.
  • Ability to develop brochures, pamphlets and promotion material etc.  
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Willing to extensive traveling.
  • Having good computer skills.
  • Prepare Work Plan for advocacy, awareness raising and building a network for working on gender empowerment, VAW and gender equality.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and institutions working for gender equality and formulate comprehensive agenda for empowerment of women.
  • Plan and implement advocacy activities within the priority areas.
  • Prepare materials for various campaigns and events etc.
  • Coordinate with media on gender issues, press releases etc.
  • Organize consultative meetings, training workshops, seminars etc on gender issues.
  • To prepare minutes/activity reports and submit to the Commission.
  • Finalize the Reports for publication.
  • Any other task assigned by the Chairperson NCSW.

   3.

Consultant Research

  • Master Degree in Social Sciences particularly women or gender studies or social research or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 7-years’ working experience in gender based research studies, analysis and implementing gender sensitive methodologies.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Having good computer skills.

 

  • Prepare Work Plan for conducting research studies on NCSW pending issues.
  • Developing TORs for research and researchers.
  • Coordinate with Federal and Provincial Stakeholders/ NGOs/CSOs/ Research and Educational Institutions working on gender equality.
  • Collect gender sensitive statistical data on gender issues including equal employment opportunities, combating VAW and gender sensitive media.
  • Compile data and submit to the Commission as and when needed.
  • Any other task assigned by the Chairperson NCSW.

 The Consultants will work and report to the Chairperson of NCSW.
