NCSW Expresses Serious Concern & Grief Over The Killing Of An 8 Year Old Girl ‘Zainab’ In Kasur

NATIONAL COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN EXPRESSES SERIOUS CONCERN AND GRIEF OVER THE KILLING OF AN EIGHT_YEAR_OLD GIRL ‘ZAINAB’ IN KASUR

 

 

ISLAMABAD, January 10th, 2018: National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) expresses grave concern over the incident at Kasur; Where an eight-year old girl was allegedly raped and killed, after she was abducting near her home.

Zainab went missing five days prior to her body being found on Tuesday night in a heap of garbage. As per details, the girl was abducted near her home when she was on her way to Holy Quran class. An FIR was registered on January 4 by the victim’s uncle. Kasur.

NCSW believes that Provincial government should act promptly and arrest the Kidnapper. The Commission also urges the provincial government to ensure that the justice is served to the family of the victim and the kidnaper is punished.

NCSW urges the Provincial government to not only address this pressing issue but also put in place a mechanism which ensures that such events can be avoided in future. Serious actions to be taken by the government.

NCSW also requests the media to refrain from showing the pictures of the child victim.
